A person cannot simply live in peace with a clear understanding of their fate, a fate toward which the decay of the body brings them closer every day. For a tolerable existence to be possible, one must be anesthetized and dreaming. Every country uses its own methods to put people into a trance. You can build a culture in such a way that people turn into terrified actors, performing success for one another. You can drown them in the consumption of little shiny boxes oozing useless information. You can make them beat their foreheads against the floor in front of an icon. But such methods are unreliable and prone to failure. The Russian technology, however, is the most humane of all, because it always works, without fail.
